Scarce Antique Model 1871 Vetterli Vitali Rifle Bayonet measuring 25-1/2" overall with a blade length of 20-1/5"."
BOTH BAYONET AND SCABBARD ARE TORINO MARKED"
Blade shows much original finish with some light age patina, wear, use. Brown composite grips with excellent working press-stud ejector. Pommel end right side shows cartouche. Ricasso area of blade marked, "TORINO" with cartouche on opposite side. Cross-guard marked "2243", The leather and brass scabbard has two partial cracks on leather ends, the point end has a crack on one side, the other side shows a crack on top area one side. We have put black tape on this carefully so that further damage will not occur. Back of scabbard leather marked, "TORINO 1892". Brass throat back shows double cartouche stamping. There are photos previous to the tape so you can see these areas. A very beautiful piece with matching Torino marked Bayonet and Scabbard.
